Vermillion Community Connection Center 5K Run/Walk

What is the Community Connection Center?

A connected community where every family has the resources they need to thrive. The Community Connection Center has been a vital part of the Vermillion community since the fall of 2019. It is a unique gathering place, community resource center and a networking hub that houses a full range of community services. The building is home to the Vermillion Feeding programs (Food Pantry, Tanager Takeout, The Welcome Table), ROCS Outreach, Salvation Army, The Evan Project Diaper Bank and the offices of the United Way. The building will celebrate its 5-year anniversary the fall of 2024. To celebrate, The United Way of Vermillion and the Community Connection Center will like to host a Community 5K, just as we did in 2019! Over 200 people participated in 2019 and we are hoping we can increase that number this year!

Why a 5K?

This beautiful community space deserves a big 5 year Vermillion celebration filled with community spirit, family-friendly activities, and, of course, a little walk/run!

The Course
The 5k Course intertwines through beautiful dowtown Vermillion and the campus of the University of South Dakota. We've designed this course to be spectator-friendly and a few on-course cheer stations and entertainment along the way!

The Details/Packet Pick-up
$20 - July 16-August 15, 2024 (Early-Bird!)
$25 - August 16-September 14

Participants can pick up their race packets at the CCC located at 9 Court Street during the following times:

Friday, September 13th between 5 p.m. & 6 p.m.

Saturday, September 14th between 8 a.m. & 8:45 a.m.

Children under 10 can participate for free. Please note they will not receive a Bib or T-shirt.

What You Get

Each participant will receive a CCC 5K Walk/Run T-shirt, and we will have post-race food available from our sponsors!

**All registrations are final and there will be no refunds. The race will be held rain or shine unless it is determined that it is either unsafe or logistically impractical for the race to go on.
